Joan Hamilton's Obituary
With deep sadness and fond memories, we announce the passing of Ms. Joan Laura Hamilton, 79, of Palm Harbor, FL. Joan was born on November 20th1945 in Thomasville Georgia to parents Andrew and Laura Abramoske. She was raised in Farmingdale, New York, and moved to the Palm Harbor area in 2003. Joan spent 52 years as a registered nurse, serving others both in New York and Florida.
Joan was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who touched the lives of so many in her time. She was a selfless, giving, loving person. Even during her sickest days she wanted to make sure that her loved ones had everything they needed.
Joan Is preceded in death by her father, Andrew, mother Laura, sister Bunny, and son Arthur. She is survived by her daughter Janet and husband James, daughter-in-law Michele, her grandsons Kameron and Brandon and his wife Navarre, her brothers Gerry and Drew, and her sister Virginia. Her love for her family was fierce and unconditional (if not a little unconventional) and her legacy of love will live on in their hearts.
Joan was a force of nature, and to know her was to love her. In life she loved nothing more than to be surrounded by loved ones, often hosting friends and family during holidays and special occasions whenever able. She spoke her love through giving gifts to others, and though she’s no longer with us, her spirit will remain a part of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service and Celebration of life will be scheduled in 2025.
