Joan Ann Curtachio's Obituary
Joan Ann (Porpora) Curtachio, 87, of New Port Richey, FL passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Josephine, and her husband Anthony aka Sonny. Joan was born on Staten Island, NY on June 12, 1937, and enjoyed growing up in a big extended family with many cousins. She graduated from Port Richmond High School in 1955. She loved telling stories of taking the ferry to work at the original Chase Manhattan Bank and working with the Rockefeller brothers who owned the bank. She then met Sonny on a blind date at Cherry Lane and fell in love. Joan and Sonny married in 1959 and were married for 62 years until he passed in 2022. He was her everything, she was his. Joan was a devout Catholic. She cherished her family time. She enjoyed painting and cooking in her free time. Joan was involved with her Tops club and Red Hat Society for many years. She is survived by their children Terry Hoover (Carl), JoAnn Slay (George), Sue Cordova (Ray), Anthony Jr (Kevin), and grandchildren Geo, Dewey and Dominic Slay, and Kylie, Raymond and Catie Cordova, and her sister Angela Cipoletti, and her sister-in-law Grace Pfluger, along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. A visitation will be held at Trinity Funeral Home followed by a mass at St. James the Apostle Church in New Port Richey, FL. She will then be laid to rest alongside Sonny at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Trinity, FL.
