Our love goes out to Miss Sharon, Laurie, Jamie and David. What a wonderful man! It's been our pleasure and honor to know him as friend and serve with him! He is not lost, we know where he is! What a blessing he has been to us and so many others. There is no one that met him that wasn't touched by his Love and Genorosity of Spirit for God and Commnunity. His service was stellar! Our hearts are heavy in that we won't have him here with us each day. Let's celebrate a life that was so fantastic! God Speed Jimmy Bates and enjoy being with Your Lord!!

Oh Jim, I will miss your smiling face. I loved sharing funny stories and laughing about them with you and Sharon. I can cry because I will miss you, but know that is not what you would want. You were such a faithful servant of God, and only hope you were aware of how much that meant to me. I will always be smiling thinking back on the many memories that I have. General Jimmy Bates, a true honorable gentleman and precious son of God. He and Sharon became our friends and we began to sit together in church. They suggested we should serve communion as they did. It has been our honor. Our lives will never be the same, as he will be so missed. However, we know he is now with Christ. He gave of his time to spend weekends in prison ministering the love of Christ to those incarcerated men. He and Sharon were always together and holding hands in their walk of life. We pray for you Sharon for God's healing and strength, and for wisdom of choices.

My heartfelt sadness going out to the family, the loved ones of "Mr Bates". I know he will be missed so much. May you find comfort that he had a lasting faith and hope in Jesus and is busy in Heaven, reaping his rewards.
I will never forget the times around the table with the family in Nashville. It was always breakfast. It was always a special time with my special childhood friends of Laurie, Jaime and Raleigh.. Mr Bates was always a welcoming person to me.
