Jesus Amaro's Obituary
Jesus "Jay" Amaro, 86, formerly of Dartmouth, MA, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, in Rutherfordton, NC. Those left to celebrate Jay's life are his devoted wife of 68 years Fredesvinda; son William and wife Jean of Ellenboro, NC; daughter Gladys Amaro-Messier and husband Richard of Rutherfordton, NC; his six grandchildren, Micheal and Mathew Valer, Corey and Ashley Amaro, and Seth and Ethan Messier; his six great-grandchildren Allison, Aubrrey, Kayla, Justine, Ashton, and Max; his great-great-granddaughter Nova; and his brother Rafael and sister Mary.
He was preceded in passing by his daughter Evelyn; parents Silvano and Gloria; brother Jose and sister Gloria Alers.
Jay's early career was as a union dress cutter in the textile industry. He owned several businesses, including a gas station and an ice cream parlor. He was always involved in investing and owned numerous real estate properties. Jay would advise you to always pay yourself first. When asked what he meant by that, he would respond to save something from every paycheck, even if it was only a few dollars. Jay finished his career as owner-operator of Rapid Rooter, which he started and grew into a successful business.
Jay loved spending time with his family and was a joy to be with.
