Jessie Selzer's Obituary
Jessie Marie Selzer passed peacefully in the early morning hours of July 23, 2025. She was 96 years old.
Jessie was the beloved wife of 52 years to the late Arthur J. Selzer (2006).
Born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey, she was the daughter of William Elliott and Jessie (Read) Elliott.
After graduating from Hamilton High School, Class of 1947, she attended Rider College. After marriage, Jessie and Arthur moved to Levittown, Pennsylvania, where Jessie raised her two children as a stay-at-home mom, earning extra money giving piano lessons in her home. She then pursued a career as a secretary at a law firm in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, and at American Cyanamid in West Windsor, New Jersey. She also dabbled in real estate, buying several homes and renting them out.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband Arthur, and second husband Walter Heon whom she married in 2009.
Jessie is survived by her children Jay Selzer and his wife Peggy, of Oldsmar Florida, and Patricia Kemps and her husband Mike, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother William J. Elliott.
One of her greatest joys while growing up was spending time at the family’s summer home in Toms River, New Jersey, swimming in Barnegat Bay and walking the boardwalk at Seaside Heights.
Jessie retired in 1994 and moved to New Port Richey, Florida to be near to her son and his family. She was very active at First Baptist Church in New Port Richey and had many friends there.
There will be a family viewing on Thursday July 31, 2025, and her interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Trinity, Florida.
