McQuaig, Janice Sue, 65, of Tampa, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8 from 5-8 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel with funeral services on Thursday, April 9 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Burial to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Janice Sue Langford McQuaig was born on March 8, 1950 in Tyler, Texas. She spent most of her childhood having fun with her big brother Jerry; they are finally back together again in Heaven.
On November 7, 1969 in Bay Minette, Alabama she married the love of her life, Michael McQuaig. Together they moved to Tampa and had two beautiful daughters, Alicia and Sonya.
Janice recently retired from her position as a Kindergarten Assistant with the Hillsborough County School after over 30 years of dedicated service, most recently with Davis Elementary School. She began teaching as a Kindergarten Aide in 1984 at Town-n-Country Elementary School. Being with those little ones and all of her friends at those two schools is what kept her going every day. Even after her cancer diagnosis, she returned the next school year and was able to teach as much as possible during the first semester.
Janice loved the beach (especially sunsets), Disney World, drawing/art, sewing, crafts, photography, Elvis, and her beloved dog Bear among many other things. But, her most favorite activity was just spending time with her family. She was very giving, sensitive, loving, creative, classy, trustworthy, honest, Texas-sassy, loyal, and generous.
She is survived by:
Her husband: Michael McQuaig,
Daughters: Alicia Richardson and Sonya Boyette,
Grandchildren: Amanda Boyette, Britney Lowrance, Kyle Richardson, Chase Richardson, Bailey Richardson
Son-in-Laws: Wayne Richardson and Eddie Boyette
