Janet Hanley Stelzmann's Obituary
Janet Hanley Stelzmann passed away peacefully in her home on June 26, 2021 in Lutz, Florida. Born 1934 in New Orleans, raised in Lockport, LA, Janet was a graduate of Charity Hospital of Nursing and successfully pursued her career over the course of 30 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dr. Rainulf Stelzmann, and her parents, Lawrence Hanley and Mae Toups Hanley of Lockport, LA.
Selflessly devoted to her family, she is survived by her five children – Andrew Stelzmann, Mary Clark (Bill), Juliet Varnedoe (Jon), Sue Stelzmann (John Reynolds), and Paul Stelzmann; six grandchildren - Rob Clark (Wendy), Sara Davis (Aaron), Jenna Clark, Taylor Clark, Jasmin Stelzmann, and Sophia Reynolds; and two great grandchildren – Emily and Charlie. All have been touched and influenced by her love and wisdom.
Janet was actively involved with the University of South Florida Women’s Club. Her talents were shared with the community as a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a volunteer at the Lutz Library. She was a gifted musician, a talented quilter, and a seasoned traveler. She loved the beaches of Florida and took pride in caring for her lake home and garden. Janet will be remembered as an honest, devout, and fun-loving woman.
Funeral service is planned for July 8, 2021 at 11:00 am at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Trinity, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Florida Hospice.
