James Zweifel's Obituary
James (Jim) Rindy Zweifel, born March 29, 1940, the second son of Dwight John and Alvena Gertrude, died August 26, 2024 with his wife and son by his side. He spent his formative years in Monticello, Wisconsin. He graduated from Monticello Schools, Valparaiso University (class of 1962), Northern Illinois University (class of 1963) & University of Wisconsin Stout.
Jim spent 42 years working in the public school system in Monticello, Loyal, Dodgeville, Waterford, Wisconsin and Clearwater, Florida. He was passionate and opinionated about sports, education, history, and especially politics. He was a teacher, coach, guidance counselor, and administrator. Jim played basketball in high school and college at Valparaiso. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Coaches Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010. He enjoyed playing tennis and was an avid fan of the Monticello Ponies, University of Wisconsin Badgers, and the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years (Glenys Rudd), son Daniel, daughter-in-law Diana, grandchildren, Madison, Evan, Isabel, and Zaylee, brothers David (Corinne) and John, sisters-in-law Marsha Parks, Jean Zweifel, and Pearl Zweifel and many loved nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, and brothers, Robert and Gary.
