James Blair Sucarichi's Obituary
James Blair Sucarichi, 70, of Wesley Chapel, passed away on March 23, 2025. He was born on January 12, 1955, in Brooksville, FL, to Ernest and Shirley Sucarichi and was raised the Tampa Bay area with his older brother Thomas. After graduating from Tampa Bay Tech High School, he attended the fire academy and began a career as in fire rescue/emergency medical services. He spent most of his career with the Hillsborough County Fire Department, beginning in 1979, retiring as an EMT Captain in November 2000. After he retired, he worked as a safety officer in construction and then became a fire protection specialist with the state of Florida Agency of Health Care Administration, where he remained until his passing.
James was a wonderful father to his two sons James and Michael. He met his wife Dawn in 2001, and the couple were married on September 1, 2012. He loved his family above anything else. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, shooting, and riding motorcycles. He was very good with his hands and loved to build things. He had a big heart and cared deeply for people and for all animals, both wild and domesticated. He will be remembered as a great father and a family man, who would help anyone who needed it.
James is survived by his wife Dawn Robertson Sucarichi, his sons James Dean Sucarichi and Michael Dustin Sucarichi, his brother Thomas Sucarichi, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Shirley, his sister-in-law Donelle, and cousins Joe and Haida Maida, Frances and Angelo Ippolito, and Camilia Milian.
Donations may be made in James’s memory to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Pancreatic Cancer research, any local animal shelter, or the National Rifle Association (NRA).
