James Saxton's Obituary
James Loring Saxton, 79, passed away on May 17, 2025, at his home in New Port Richey, FL.
Born to Helen Brown Donigan and Herald Harvey Saxton in Binghampton, NY, Jim attended the University of South Florida. After graduating in 1968, he worked as a general yardmaster for various railroads throughout the country. He returned to Florida in 1973 to work in personnel for the state for over 30 years until his retirement.
Jim was known for his love of trains, classic cars and capturing family moments on his camera. He enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in North Carolina whenever he could. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nikki Saxton; three children, Jennifer Franklin (Curtis), Jimmy Saxton (Jessica) and Amy King (Collin); and seven grandchildren, Chris Franklin (Angela), Matt Franklin, James Saxton, Jayla Saxton, Caden King, Grace King and Riley King.
There will be a wake held on Wednesday, May 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Dr., Trinity. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 29 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 5340 High St., New Port Richey. Burial service will follow at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 29 at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
