Charlie Tillman
I met Jim and his lovely wife a few years ago as they were traveling on Amtrak. I was the conductor when they boarded the train in Gastonia , NC. Jim and his wife were the most gracious and down to earth people that you could imagine. We spoke a while about a few of the roles he had played in the past as well about the museum that he and his wife were setting up in Hickory, NC. What a pleasure and an honor to have spent those few minutes with him. I had been a fan of his for years and was especially fond of his portrayal of Jim Lindsey on The Andy Griffith Show. We also talked about other roles he had played on The Twilight Zone and various westerns. What a guy. He will be surely missed.
