Grandma,

I can't even put into words how much you will be missed by the entire family. You were the most loving, patient, and understanding person I've ever met. You treated everyone with so much respect. Your compassionate and selfless personality made people want to be just like you and will never be forgotten. You wanted to know what was going on in my life because you genuinely cared about me, and that always made me feel important. Spending everyday after school with you and Pap are memories that I will treasure forever. We never lost touch either; we stayed so close throughout the years. You were like a second mother to me. We would always say how much we reminded each other of Mom, which made our time together even more special. It makes me so sad knowing you are no longer here on earth with us. But, it makes me even happier knowing you are celebrating in heaven with Pap and Mom. I can't wait to see all of you again. I love you so much Grandma.

Grandma,

From my first breath, you were there. You held me, comforted me, encouraged me, and most of all, loved me. I remember all of our adventures at the Whittington house... swimming in the pool, family parties, and watching Pooh bear at 3:00AM with Pap. You were the kindest soul, with a gentle demeanor and huge heart. Family was everything to you - and those values you instilled in all of us. You were there for everything... elementary school concerts, grandparent's day, and graduation. You always remained grounded in your faith - even after Lisa passed, you never questioned your faith and knew you were going to see Lisa and Pap in Heaven. I remember you saying how much I remind you of Lisa... that meant the world to me. I am honored to be reminded of such a selfless and beautiful person. Grandma, I miss you so much. I am sad you will not be here for my nursing school graduation, hear about my clinical experience, and getting my first nursing job. However, I remain strong in knowing you have the best view from heaven. You told me I would make a great nurse and I promise to make you proud. I promise to be the best nurse to my future patients because I have you, Lisa, and Pap watching over me.

I love you forever. I will see you again someday. I am forever your sunshine.

Grandma,
Words cannot express how much I miss and love you. You were always there for the entire family whenever we needed a kind word or wisdom and advice. You were (and still are) our matriarch - a selfless leader who always put her family first. You and Pap showed me what a healthy, committed, and successful marriage looks like. I will strive to live up to this standard each and every day with Minjel, who also loved you so much. I will also seek to emulate how devoted you were to your children and grandchildren. You truly put your family first in everything, to all of our immense benefit.

I will never forget spending the days in your pool with the cousins, family parties, and all the other good times we had together. I take solace in the fact that I know this is not the end, that saying goodbye in this life is only temporary, and that we still have eternity to all be together. I know you are now at peace with Pap and Lisa, enjoying your richly deserved heavenly reward. Rest In Peace Grandma and until we meet again….

Finding the words to express how profound this loss is for all of us is impossible. Grandma, you’ve shown me selflessness and unconditional love. Your fierce devotion to your family and your unwavering faith in our Lord is a lesson you taught that we all can learn from.
Growing up next door to you and Pap was a treasure. I will forever remember you spending hours with me me going through your button collection, feeding Pap and I our favorite meal of sunny side up eggs and sausages, you and I cuddled in the closet with Mindy (the dog) during thunderstorms so she felt safe, and of course, always sewing up my baby doll when she needed mending. These are memories I will never forget of your kindness and love.
When Doug and I chose to move back home with you, mom, Michelle, and the kids, you welcomed us with open arms. What you don’t know is you showed Doug and I how to treasure each other and our family; you taught me that with the deep profound love you shared with Pap and your family. That example will resonate in the lives of all of your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
You would be tickled pink to know that we are going to be blessed with the addition of a baby girl to our family in February! Lydia will grow up knowing that all the love from our family she feels is from your example that you taught us growing up.
I find such peace in knowing you are with Pap and Lisa now; watch over us down here until we meet again in the Church Triumphant. We love you so much Grandma and will miss you forever.

My mom was the most beautiful person I have ever known. I feel this loss to the bottom of my soul. But I know Mom is with my Dad, her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, and my beautiful little sister Lisa. I know they are rejoicing.

Rest in peace my brave and beautiful Mom. Now you suffer no more and are with God and family. Someday we will all be together again.

My tears are many but I know you are now healthy and with our Lord.
