Ian Michael Pierpoint's Obituary
Ian Pierpoint, 28, passed away suddenly on January 27, 2019.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Robert Pierpoint, his uncle, Douglas Pierpoint, his grandfather, Felix Kaplun and grandmother, Galina Kaplun.
He is survived by his father, Donald Pierpoint of Clearwater, his mother, Sylvia (David) Hancock of Oldsmar, his sons, Cameron Pierpoint and Colton Pierpoint of Seminole, his step sister, Ashley (Cameron) Thompson of Freeport, Michigan, his grandmother, Mary Pierpoint of Adrian, Michigan along with cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Ian was born on June 23, 1990 in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was a very happy child. He was never a fussy eater and would try any foods that were given to him. He enjoyed dressing up in many costumes, Batman being his favorite. He especially liked superhero costumes with capes. At the age of 18 months, he and his parents moved to Jackson, Wyoming. This broadened the costumes to cowboy gear and lots of western wear. He had a precious smile as he acted out the parts of the various characters of his costumes. Eventually, they moved back to Florida. As he grew older, he enjoyed playing with Legos and was quite talented in building various Lego sets, but Batman Lego creations were his favorite. He had an artistic flair and loved to draw. He developed a great sense of humor. During his early teenage years, he took up skateboarding. While there were many bumps and scratches, which were always of concern to his mother, he managed to learn his skateboarding tricks without any broken bones.
As he got older, he came to love both cats and dogs. Video games became a passion and he started his collection of comic books. He developed a love for motorcycles and owned several over the years.
He attended a Christian school during his early school years and then attended Carwise Middle School. He graduated in 2008 from Palm Harbor University High School.
His son, Cameron, was born in 2008 and Ian was smitten! Trips to the park and playing with matchbox cars kept them both busy. He loved watching Cameron line up all the cars in perfect order! Colton came along in 2013. While Cameron was squirmy, Colton was cuddly so Ian enjoyed getting in some good hugs from Colton. As the boys grew, Ian enjoyed taking them to McDonald’s or to the Oldsmar Flea Market for some unique finds. At home, they would sit together to play videos or snuggle up to watch cartoons and movies.
Ian had several jobs working in the food industry and automotive industry. Recently, he worked for a cab company getting the cabs ready for the day’s work making sure that all the items on the checklists were completed.
He enjoyed cooking by making his “special goulash” with ramen noodles and spaghetti sandwiches. He loved to read and had a great interest in history. The History Channel could draw him in whenever it happened to be on the TV. He also liked to read history books.
His mother will never forget his hugs and claims they were the best hugs ever.
Ian will be greatly missed by family and friends, especially his best friend Michael Riccardi of Tarpon Springs who was like a brother to him. He will be remembered for bringing joy and helping others in his life. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, FL 34655 on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 A.M.
