Hiram Pinkerton's Obituary
Lee Pinkerton of San Antonio, Florida passed away after a long illness on July 16, 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joann of San Antonio, Florida. His son, Lee Jr. (Michelle) Pinkerton of Naperville, Illinois. Daughter, Tobie Ann (Dean) Boddiford of New Port Richey, Florida.
5 grandchildren, Lauren and Daniel Pinkerton of Chicago, Illinois, David Pinkerton of Naperville, Illinois
Brittany (Chris) Jenkins of Land ‘O Lakes, Florida and Grady Boddiford of Hudson, Florida. A brother, Donald (Elaine) Pinkerton of Longview, Texas.
He was born in Canton, Texas to Hiram West and Vada Pinkerton of Diboll, Texas
Mr. Pinkerton was a graduate of Lufkin High School in 1948. He attended the University of Texas Austin where he played football and received a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering. He subsequently earned a degree in Finance and Accounting from Centenary College, Shreveport, Louisiana.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and helped build the Early Warning System in Alaska during the Korean War.
He played semi pro football for the Denver Prospectors.
After returning home he joined the Lufkin Texas Police Department.
Mr. Pinkerton moved to Houston, Texas where he was employed by Commercial Credit Corporation from 1955 to 1961. He was hired by Bank Building Corporation of St. Louis, Missouri as a Sales Consultant. He advanced to Manager of Sales until 1972 when he was appointed Corporate Vice President and served as Division General Manager in Chicago, Illinois until 1977 at which time he relocated to Tampa, Florida as Senior Consultant for the Florida Division.
He was top Sales Consultant in the company from 1978 to 1983. He was the Presidential Award winner in 1978, 1981, 1982 and 1983.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Louisiana and Noble Mystic Shrine and Hella Temple of Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Pinkerton was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved golf and football and being with his grand children
A Memorial service will be held to celebrate his life in November.
