Herbert Bradley's Obituary
BRADLEY, Herbert Jack, age 75, died Friday, April 25, 2025, in Land O Lakes, FL with his family at his side.
Herb was born into a military family on November 13,1949 in Evansville, Indiana. Eventually settling in Tampa, he graduated from Leto HS in 1967. He attended USF and Hillsborough CC. He served in the Army, attending missile school at Redstone Arsenal followed by a tour in Okinawa during Vietnam. He had a notable career working for TECO at Gannon Station for over 30 years. Utilizing his degree in Architecture, he also designed and built custom homes for over 35 years.
Always energetic he coached Little League and soccer, was a scuba diver, fisherman and avid hunter. He played guitar, composed and sang. He was most noted as an excellent raconteur, mimic and comedian, which made him popular with all ages. A man of quiet faith, he was an example of endless support, love, integrity, and positive work ethic.
He struggled with metastatic lung cancer, requiring a lung and two brain surgeries. For 23 years he calmly navigated the loss of abilities without complaint. His pleasant, appreciative and humorous nature endeared him to all. We are grateful for the care and love he received at the Baldomero Lopez State Veterans’ Nursing Home for the last three years.
Herb is predeceased by his parents James W. (Jack) and Ruth (Hunold) Bradley, brothers Gary and David Bradley and a grandson, Justin Lott. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret (Margie) Wallauer, 3 children, Marlies Sarrett (Dan), Christine Miller (Les) and James Bradley (Elizabeth), 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, along with numerous cousins in both the US and Germany.
