Heather Marguerite Westerman's Obituary
Heather Marguerite Westerman, 1976 - 2022
On Friday, November 18, 2022, one day shy of her 46th birthday, Heather Marguerite
Westerman of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Hawthorne, New York, tragically passed
away after a decades-long battle with substance abuse.
Heather studied massage therapy after high school, and she had incredibly gentle hands and a
magical touch. She was a creative soul who enjoyed classic rock, 90’s rap and techno, abstract
painting, designing delicate & beautiful pieces of jewelry, and shopping at Walmart. She had a
huge heart, especially for the outsider, her entire life, always bringing lonely peers home hoping
to bring friendship and love into their lives. She also had a heart for animals, from horses to cats
and dogs, and especially her favorite, the tall, beautiful and gentle giraffe.
Heather was preceded in death by her loving mother, Jacqueline. She leaves behind her
beloved father, Frank, sister, Jenn, brother-in-law, Eric, several nieces and nephews, several
aunts & uncles, and many cousins. Heather also leaves behind a young son, Kaleb, whom she
loved very much. In spite of her deep love for him, she did not stand in the way of him finding
his wonderful forever family.
We are devastated by this loss, and want to acknowledge the struggle with substance abuse
that she endured for so many years. We will always wonder what her life could have been
without her dependency on drugs. If there is one thing that she would have wanted to come out
of her death is for anyone who is struggling to seek help, she would want them to win the battle
and beat this demon that she could not. Please know that there is help out there. Please don’t
be afraid to ask for it.
