I got shocked to hear the news while I was browsing in the net about the sad demise of Harold Kent. I am very grateful to them for their magnanimous gesture and nobility to help me when I was a student of P.G. in agricultural studies at Hyderabad (India). They are very kind noble and a man with godliness. After a decade of a gap I could find this sad news and I remain for a while. His helping hand, broad vision have inspired me and made me to stand in my life.
My gratitude for them is forever, and I always cherish their kindness and warmth. I could complete my higher studies with their financial assistance.

Mr. Harold Kent was generous to donate about 90% of my tuition during my six and a half years pursuing two college degrees at LeTourneau University. Looking back now after accomplishing such a great task, I am more amazed of a great offer this man of God did for me! I also know he was not the only one who initiated his bank account, but through the agreement with his wife Ms. JoAnn Kent, too.
Along with their generosity, they have kept me in prayer throughout each semester and the many life-challenges I had to face.

At times, I ponder if he did this out of generosity or as an obedience to God.
Either way, my eyes are opened to two things:

1) Noticing God's great plan for me unfolding slowly, along with continual blessings being spilt. (Not to forget His great heart expressed, too.)
2) Realizing people do have the Love of God and share it---attached with belief in the person and strong encouragement.

Many blessings to Jo Ann and the rest of the Kent family! May God's abundance ever pour out into your hearts with such a joy from The Lord!

Dear Joanne and family -- Sydney and I are still praying for you all in that you continue to rest in the "always comforting warmth" of the Lord's love and support. I still recall the first time I met you and Harold -- 32 years ago at your lake front home. You were hosting a FCA meeting for USF students, and you two made me feel so welcomed and "not judged" even though I was not a believer at that time. God bless always, Mike Betts

Harold was a second father, a big brother and a true friend to a good many more people then even he probably ever knew. He was a true child of God. I remember stopping in to visit at his farm office years ago on my route delivering lumber. Although I was likely an interruption in his day he never let on and would always sit and chat until I was done. He and Joanne have always been a huge part of my family's life for the last 40 years and were instrumental in encouraging and supporting us while I went to college in the 70's to become an aviator. Through all my mistakes and bad judgments over the years and even though we have not seen each other in a while, Harold never once turned his back on me or my family. Thank you Lord for allowing me to have known thisman; your child, your good and faithful servant.

It has been an honor and a privelege to call Harold Kent a brother in Christ. Together we have worked to spread the Gospel through the ministry of Galcom International, and his enthusiasm and passion for this work will be with me always. Sherry and I especially remember our time with Harold and Joanne in Israel two years ago, when we worked to move Galcom forward to a new level with a new combined radio/bible product. Thanks for your perseverance in this vision Harold - you leave behind a great legacy!

When I think of Harold, I always smile :)
My favorite memory came to mind after hearing of his passing. We were in Mongolia in 1995 ... one of the Pastors had taken our group to a women's Bible study and prayer meeting. The women took turns introducing themselves (none had been a believer for more than six months) and many asked prayer for their husbands and families. Then we were asked to say a few words about ourselves ... I will never forget the joyous response as Harold introduced himself and said he had been a believer for over 40 years ... the women jumped up clapping their hands, laughing and rejoicing for this precious man of God ... Harold had given them hope.
I think this gift of hope is what Harold gave to everyone blessed to know him. His life often reminded me of the Browning poem
"Grow old along with me!
The best is yet to be,
The last of life, for which the first was made;
Our times are in His hand
Who saith, 'A whole I planned,
Youth shows but half; trust God: see all, nor be afraid!"
Harold's life seems to promise that we don't ever grow old, and get done with it all. We just go on to bigger things, wiser and better and more beautiful ... until we come to understand and be a part of the whole great plan of God :)
As I remembered Mongolia, I wondered if the host of heaven gave Harold a similar joyous reception as he finished the race that had been set before him.
My life was one of many made richer by Harold Kent.
