With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Gwendolyn Walters on March 3, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on November 13, 1932, in Walnut Creek, Ohio, Gwendolyn lived a life devoted to family, knowledge, and the joy of discovery.
She earned a master’s degree in library science from the University of South Florida and dedicated her career to helping others as a medical librarian at University Community Hospital in Tampa, FL. Her work ensured that medical professionals had access to vital resources, leaving a lasting impact on the healthcare community.
Gwendolyn was a longtime resident of Palm Harbor, Florida, where she and her late husband, Tom Walters, built a loving home. Together, they raised two devoted sons, Michael Walters and Steven Walters, who will forever cherish her wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love.
She had a passion for travel, exploring new places with Tom and capturing their adventures in beautifully crafted scrapbooks. Her love for storytelling and preserving memories was a gift that her family treasures.
She will be remembered for her sharp intellect, warm heart, and the gentle guidance she offered to all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate Gwendolyn’s life will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 with a viewing at 10:30am, at Trinity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to a charity of your choice.
May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved Tom, and forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
