I was fortunate to have worked at Buffalo Columbus Hospital with Dr. Alfano in the operating room. He treated each person as an individual and not a procedure. He taught me standards in surgery I carried with me in all my working years. Peace be with you, Judith S.

My deepest condolences on the passing a kind & loving man. Please remember the memories during these trying times. I still live in the old neighborhood & walk by the old homes on North Dr & Four Seasons & fond memories flood back playing with Susan as a child & family gatherings with in laws Aunt Carrie & Uncle Lou. In 1963 I was 5 months pregnant with my first child. I was admitted to the hospital suffering from vomiting and fever. No dr had any idea of what to do. Dr Alfaro came after a plea from my husband. We met him years before when in an emergency he removed a cyst from my ovary. He rushed to the hospital and preformed exploratory surgery. He discovered I had a bowel obstruction. After 5 hours if a very delicate removal of adhesions while carefully taking care of my unborn he closed me up. I was in the hospital for several weeks. He came every morning to check on my recovery. My son was born after 3 months and healthy. He also supervised the delivery. How fortunate this world was to have him.
