Frank A Sola's Obituary
Frank A. Sola of New Port Richey, Florida, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, January 16th, 2026. Born on January 30, 1944, in East Hartford, Connecticut, Frank was a man who was loved by many and made countless contributions to his community.
A bright student, Frank received a full scholarship to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY where he served as President of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and graduated with a B.S. degree in Management Engineering. Frank began his career in the software industry and over his lifetime, accumulated over 50 years of strategic, operational and investment experience in professional services, integration services, and software product markets. He was well respected for his knowledge and experience and worked in myriad management and consultant capacities for various corporations including IBM, Keane Associates, SystemSoft, Lotus Development Corp, Paradyne, Computer Associates, and AMD Telemedicine. He was proud to have founded his own computer consulting firm, Computer Partners, Inc., and served as its President and COO until its sale in 1988. He worked actively until his passing as the founder and President of Sola and Company, an advisory and consulting firm specializing in strategy development for software firms, as principal at Kaufman & Company and as CEO of ViaTech Technologies, Inc.
Giving back to his community was a vital part of Frank’s life and he frequently gave his time to help others. Over the years he served as trustee of The Rivers School of Weston, MA, the Chairman of the Board for both Charles River School, and the Dover Church in Dover, MA. Frank was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Trouble Creek of New Port Richey, FL. He was particularly passionate about his philanthropic work with Score International providing bibles to baseball camps within the United States and the Dominican Republic.
Frank was known for his larger-than-life personality, kind nature and warm presence. He had many hobbies and loved gardening, cooking, golf, and spending quiet moments with his wife, Nancy, whom he adored. Frank cherished his time with friends and family, playing cards or making homemade pizzas for all. He especially loved his role as “Papa Non” to his many grandchildren.
Frank leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Nancy Sola. In addition, he leaves behind his sisters: Annamary Leblanc of Coventry, CT, JoAnn Stolle and her husband the Rev. Stephen Stolle of Charlestown, RI, former wife Bonnie Wood of Concord, MA, with whom he shares children: Stephanie George and her husband Jeffrey George of Hingham, MA, Catherine Hyun and her husband Tommy Hyun of Carlisle, MA, stepchildren: Sean McQuinn, of Tampa, FL and Scott McQuinn of Lexington Park, MD, grandchildren: Abigail George, Annabelle, Henry and Violette Hyun, Ryan, Lexi and Layla McQuinn, MacKenzie Sievers, Kennedy McQuinn, and great-grandchildren Aidan McQuinn and Lyra Sievers.
