Frank Lee Richards' Obituary
Frank “Lee” Richards went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2025. He was a man who lived his faith with joy and purpose, sharing the love of Christ with everyone he met.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Lee met the love of his life, Barbara, while living in Michigan. He often said he hated the cold weather and couldn’t wait to move to Florida, not just for the sunshine, but to be closer to his parents. Once here, he built a warm and faithful life rooted in family, church, and community.
Lee was a devoted husband to Barbara, a proud father to his daughter Lisa Bond (Travis), and a doting grandfather who found pure joy in time spent with his family. He is also survived by his sister, Roxanne Brant Richards. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Richards Rohan.
His grandkids affectionately called him Mr. C because he loved Christ, church, cars, and coupons. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren: Travis Bond Jr. (Rebekah), Tyler Richards, Dylan Rohan, Riley Bond, Reagan Bond, Camden Bond, and Caitlin Bond, as well as his great-granddaughter, Catherine Bond. He took them on countless Home Depot projects and lunch outings, teaching them how to build, laugh, and love well.
Lee worked for The Tampa Tribune for nearly forty years, where his hard work and dedication left a lasting mark. But beyond his career, he will be remembered most for the way he loved others.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Lee was deeply involved in invitation counseling at church, leading many people to Christ with his gentle spirit and steadfast witness. His bright smile and warm heart touched all who knew him.
He also had a lifelong love of cars — especially his red Mustang — which reflected his joyful spirit and love for life.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 6, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Florida.
Lee’s family and friends will never forget his faith, his humor, his love of family, and the way his face lit up whenever his grandchildren were near. His legacy of love, service, and devotion to Christ will continue to shine brightly in all who knew him.
