Frank C Gigantelli, 89, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025. Born in Syracuse, New York, to the late Vito Sr. and Fanny (Mandarino) Gigantelli, Frank proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a Sargent before building a career as a route salesman for Interstate Bakery Brands and later as a computer programmer for IBM, retiring in 2001.
A Tampa Bay resident since 1980, Frank was known for his larger-than-life personality, devotion to family, and love of cooking, movies, music, and sports—especially Syracuse University football, basketball and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was also an avid golfer and skilled bowler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Gigantelli and brother Vito JR Gigantelli, and is survived by his sons Robert, Frank, and Jim; grandchildren Jimmy, Eric, Daniel, Mary, Matthew, Samuel, Joshua, Ariel, and Anthony; and great-grandchildren Brooks, River, Remington, Aidan, Anthony, Chloe, Oliver, Zuri, Levi. He is also survived by his brother and Richard, and sisters Suzanne Giambrone DeMartino and Joanne Giambrone Willoughby. His grandchildren lovingly called him “Pappap,” and he will be remembered for his humor, warmth, and dedication to those he loved.
A celebration of life will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Thursday at 10:00 AM 12609 memorial drive Trinity Florida.
