What a wonderful man. Of course, my brother, sister and I knew him as Uncle Pete, not Francis. And his wonderful beautiful wife as Aunt Peg. Aunt Peg passed away in year 2019. Their relationship to the 3 of us was not through a bloodline, but they were closer to what we had for an Aunt and Uncle as could be. They were very good friends of my parents who passed away suddenly in a car accident back in 1971. The 3 of us were adopted by another Aunt and Uncle and bless Pete and Peg’s heart, they always made a point of keeping in touch with us in our youth. They could not have been more giving and the times we shared occasionally at their home in Wayne, MI and have always remained fresh in our own heart’s and mind’s. They even also welcomed in my best friend from elementary school “Ralphie” to also share those good times with us.
I will also never forget their generosity in welcoming my older sister into their home when she was having issues in our adoptive home. That is just the type of people they were. It seems as though you do not find that kind of people nowadays, or at least that has been my experience.
In my 30’s I had an opportunity to share good conversations and rounds of golf with him. A passion for both of us and one that I will continue to try to master (Never going to happen!) in his memory.
Barbara, Donna, Terri, and Patricia, I am not sure I ever had the pleasure of meeting you but I know 98 years old is a life well-lived! I also know Pete is in a better place now being reunited with his Peg. Rest in Peace is common to say when someone passes away. But in this case, I will say Continue on with the good times Pete and share our love from us and say hello to Aunt Peg.
Thank you for blessing us with so many good memories!
Love you forever
