Frances Santana's Obituary
Frances Santana, known by many as “Paquita” of Land-O-Lakes, FL, was called to heaven on Saturday, April 4, 2020.
Frances was born in Santurce, P.R. on January 30th, 1952 to the late Daniel and Barbara Santana Diaz. She relocated to Campbell, Ohio where she graduated from Campbell Memorial in 1971. Frances then moved to Chicago, IL, where she pursued a career in banking that would last 40 years.
The bitter cold winters of Chicago drew her to the Sunshine state, where she continued her career in banking until her retirement in 2017. After retirement she joined the Tampa Bay Newcomers women’s club, AARP Chapter # 4764 and enjoyed volunteering in local political campaigns.
Frances was a social butterfly who took pleasure in entertaining at her home. She is well known for her love of jewelry, purses and dressing up for the ball. She enjoyed strumming her guitar to traditional Spanish singalongs while dreaming she was back home in Puerto Rico.
Her beautiful life will be forever cherished through the lives of her children: Lisa, Lillian (Frank), Moses, Adam (Steve), Adrian (Rosa) and her longtime partner, Venancio Tamayo. Her beloved grandchildren will forever miss her firecracker, yet kind hearted spirit: Krysten, Alexander, Samantha and Anthony. She is also survived by her 4 siblings: Abraham, Boniface, Ana Delia and Aida (Phyllis). Frances was predeceased by her brother Benedict.
Frances will be deeply missed by family, friends, devoted dogs, Rocky and Angie and all who knew her.
Due to the current pandemic, A Celebration of Life, will be announced at a later date.
