Fernando L. Quintana's Obituary
Fernando Quintana, affectionately known as Freddy, Abu, or Abuelo, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 78. Born on February 11, 1947, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he was the beloved son of Roman and Digna Quintana.
Fernando was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Magda, and his children: Fernando II, Luis, Fernando III, and Magda Alessandra. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Paola, Braeden, Xavina, Ximena, Steve, Brody, Brennan, Zophia, Ari, Andrea, Alex, and Andres. He is also lovingly remembered by his son-in-law, Luis Armando, and his daughter-in-law, Lourdes.
With a strong character and an unwavering sense of responsibility, Fernando was a protector, provider, and a joyful presence in the lives of those around him. Always seen with a big smile, he lived his life with integrity, organization, and a deep respect for others.
Fernando dedicated his career to the pharmacy field as a chemist, where his sharp mind and work ethic earned the respect of his colleagues. He poured his precision and passion into his work, always striving to make a difference. Yet, it was his family that he valued above all—his truest joy and purpose in life.
A loyal Catholic, he found strength in Scripture and lived fully in the principles of his faith. He believed deeply in eternal life and lived as a witness to that belief—with love, humility, and conviction.
Fernando enjoyed playing golf, following politics, and, most of all, spending quality time with his family. His legacy is one of unwavering love, strength, faith, and kindness. He leaves behind a family who will forever miss his wisdom, his warmth, and his example.
A funeral Mass to celebrate Fernando’s life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in New Port Richey, Florida.
