Evelyn Lisa Leuffen, 82, Tarpon Springs, passed away March 15th 2018. Survived by husband Ferd Leuffen and sons Kurt & Craig. Memorial Service to be held Tuesday, March 20th at 10:00am at Trinity Memorial Gardens (727) 376-7824. I Read Obituary
I am so deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Leuffen. As my 9th grade biology teacher she was one of those people who inspired me to be, not just the best student I could be, but the best person I could be. I will always remember her intelligence, her patience and, above all else, her kindness. My heart goes out to her family.

My sympathies are with Ferd and family on your loss. Evelyn was a warm, caring, and very positive person and I remember her fondly. She made a difference in each of her positions with the Sachem School family. I knew Evelyn from my years with the Sachem School District when Dr. Leonard Adler was Superintendent of Schools; I was the Asst. Supt. for Finance there, before I left for the Smithtown School District; that was in 1986, so it illustrates how wonderful a person Evelyn was to be so memorable. Ferd, we are still in shock. We were so hopeful that Evelyn would beat the odds. Now it is time for you to take care of yourself. We have so many fun memories of being in couples golf with the two of you.
There are just no words to describe Evelyn, such a kind hearted person that never seem to be in a bad mood no matter how much pain she was in.
I can still see her laughing at some of my goofy jokes.

Memories of Evelyn --- How can we put almost 60 years into a few words ?? Being neighbors, vacation buddies, close friends, confidants, close as families can be !! We'll always remember our camping trip on the Connecticut River - what fun - what rain & the song, " Everything Is Beautiful !
