Melinda Reilly
My mother’s spirit comprised of all the colors of the rainbow, and these 3 colors of roses standout the most to me.
Red- of course symbolizes love, beauty, and perfection, and my Mom was all of those.
White- is often used as an expression of remembrance, which my Mom will always be remembered.
Orange- with its blazing energy and enthusiasm, often symbolizes passion and excitement which she portrayed in everything she did in her life.
My mother lived a long and hard life, occasionally laced with a measure of joy and pleasure for which I am profoundly grateful for.
What can I say about my precious Mom? She took care of me, always. She took care of everyone she loved. She, practically raised her 5 younger brothers. She placed them and everyone else ahead of herself & never asked for anything in return. Their success was her reward.
She had a spirit of adventure. All of the excursions, the cruise, taking her on helicopter rides in California, roller coaster rides, jumping on the back of my motorcycle without any regard, the ferry ride to watch dolphins, swimming with stingrays and going on a small submarine ride to watch ocean life in the Bahamas. These were things that lit up her life. The list is endless.
I remember her love of food, and pizza to be precise. That and and dark chocolate. You didn't get in her way when these items were on the menu.
I am rewarded with memories. It's the gift she left me. That and her unqualified patience and love. They will stay in my heart now that she's joined my father and brother.
And now, I will wait until I once again see her, my father and brother once again.
Sweet dreams my beloved mother. At last you rest.
Your loving daughter,
Melinda
