Ernesto “Tito” Nieves

Ernesto “Tito” Nieves, 74, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023 at his home in Odessa, Florida surrounded by family. Tito was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his wife Isabel, their son Ernie (Elisa), daughter Arlene (Glenn) and grandchildren: Eric, Ryan, Gabriel, Sofia, and Alexandra. Tito is also survived by children from previous relationships which include his son Tato (Rosa) and daughters Miriam (Gideon) and Leticia and grandchildren Lucas, Yaleesa, Bianca, Natasha and Gabriela.
Tito was born in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico as the eldest son of Carmen Padilla and Serjio Nieves. He grew up among six brothers and four sisters and went to work at an early age to help his family. There he learned building and carpentry skills from his father. Later he moved to New York City where he worked at a prominent Swiss restaurant for many years.
Tito and Isabel married on Valentine’s day in 1987. They met in New York City and resided there for many years before relocating to the Tampa Bay Area in 1991.
Tito was an avid METS fan, an accomplished cook and a skilled carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing dominoes and laughed often. He was beloved by all who knew him.
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, FL 34655. Public viewing will be at 1 pm followed by a memorial service at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in his honor.
