It is with heavy hearts we announce Ernesto S. Colina 80, of Ruskin, passed away on March 19, 2022 at Advenhealth of Connerton. Ernesto was born on May 7, 1941 in Tanjay, Negros, Phillipines. He was the son of the late Lamberto and Dominga Colina.
Ernesto graduated from Cebu Institute of Medicine, 1966. He came to the United States and married Ledwina Ramos Alesna in 1967. He did his internship and first part of residency in West Virginia where his daughters Theresa and Florissa were born. The final portion of his residency was at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby Pennsylvania where his youngest daughter, Dulce, was born.
After residency he and his family moved to Salibury, North Carolina in 1977 where he had private family practice and worked for the Veterans Administration.
In 1987 he moved to Florida.
While in Florida Dr. Ernesto Colina served as an officer of Ang Bisaya Of Florida and as on officer of the Niño Shrine, USA.
Ernesto is survived by his three daughters, eldest, Theresa Ramirez married to Matías Ramirez, second, Florissa Colina married to John Wall, and youngest, Dulce Bernard married to Trevor Bernard.
Ernesto will be missed by his grandchildren Martín and Sophia Ramirez; and Tate and Bennett Bernard.
Ernesto was preceded in death by his siblings Gregorio, Felipe, Rosevilla, and Hermelo. His surviving siblings are Romeo, Marilyn, Edilberto, Victoria and Elizabeth.
A celebration of life will be held for Ernesto at Trinity Memorial Gardens at 10AM April 8 followed by the inurnment in the Hall of Life at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
