Epifanio Figueroa's Obituary
Epifanio Figueroa, 87, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025.
He was born on November 24, 1937, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to the late Epifanio and Margarita Figueroa. Raised among the mountains and traditions of Puerto Rico, Epifanio developed a strong work ethic, a love for the land, and a deep commitment to family that would define his life.
Epifanio shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife, Rosa Aida LaFontaine Figueroa. Together, they raised six children: Alice Sanchez and her husband Jose, Epifanio Figueroa Jr. and his wife Brenda, Jorge Figueroa and his wife Nancy, Henry Figueroa, Ada Figueroa Asencio and her husband Rony, and Margarita Larwa and her husband Joseph.
He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 23 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his legacy of strength, love, and generosity.
Epifanio worked for more than 30 years in New Jersey for Joseph Jingoli & Son, where he earned the respect of many through his dedication and integrity. After relocating to Florida, he continued a life of service at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in New Port Richey. He visited the sick, comforted those in need, and gave his time generously to anyone seeking a helping hand.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He never missed a good western, had a deep love for classic country music, and enjoyed admiring vintage cars. At home, he took great pride in his garden, carefully tending to the plants and flowers he nurtured over the years. Yet his greatest joy was always found in the presence of his family.
Epifanio was one of 12 siblings and deeply cherished the bond he shared with his 11 brothers and sisters. He is also remembered by countless extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, humility, and steady presence.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
