Enid Gerard's Obituary
Enid Gerard, 87, of Trinity, FL, passed away on January 25, 2025. She was born on August 18, 1937, in Bronx, NY, to Ralph and Tillie Elkes. She and her younger brother Alan were raised in the Bronx. Her stepfather, Abe Bosik, also acted as a caring adult figure in her life. Enid married her husband Edward on July 13, 1957, and the couple raised their family together in Flushing, Queens, NY, beginning with the birth of their daughter Robin, and three years later, their son Scott. After graduating from James Monroe High School, Enid spent much of her career working in the fashion industry at Enro Shirts in New York City. She later transitioned to the role of office manager for a medical group in Manhattan and Queens in New York City. Enid and Edward retired to Boynton Beach in 1997 and later relocated to Trinity, FL to be closer to their family.
Enid had a wide variety of interests and activities throughout her life. She volunteered her time to causes that were dear to her heart, especially related to cancer research, and was part of the leadership team for her local Chapter of the Pap Corps for Cancer Research. She loved connecting with her friends and family, in person or on the telephone. She played mahjong regularly and always made sure everyone who came to her home was well-fed. She loved all animals, but especially her beloved pets, Gemini and Kimba. More than anything else, she took pleasure in being present for her grandchildren and most recently, her great-grandson Austin.
Enid is survived by her husband Edward Gerard; her daughter Robin (Paul) Buchman; her son Scott Gerard; her grandchildren David (Melissa) Buchman, Carly (Christopher) Gasparini, Allyson Gerard, and Taylor Gerard; her great-grandson Austin Gasparini; and her brother Alan (Linda) Elkes.
