Elizabeth A. Mason's Obituary
(Liz) Mason, was born on April 28, 1939 in the Town of New Bremen, New York. She was the daughter of the late Ruth and George Grothier. She was one of three children.
After graduating from the University of Rochester with a nursing degree, Liz traveled through Europe visiting Switzerland, Italy, Greece and many other countries. When she returned back to the US, she moved to New York City and met the love of her life, Fred while skating in Central Park. They were married on June 3, 1963 and were together for 46 years. Liz and Fred were blessed with three children and three grandchildren. Liz touched many lives over the years helping the less fortunate by working and donating time to improve their lives.
Liz retired from Onondaga County Health Department of New York State as a Registered Nurse working with Women, Infants and Children. Liz and Fred started a new chapter of their lives and moved to “Big Sky Country” in Montana shortly after their retirement.
She loved travelling, animals, singing, acting, cooking, skating, religion and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Liz departed (the earth) peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2015.
She leaves behind her son Kevin and grandson Bentley and granddaughter Addyson; her daughter Kim, son-in-law Mark and granddaughter Skylar; son Chris; brothers, Mark and George as well as a host of other family members and many friends who will miss her.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 1 p.m. in Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel.
