Elias Iskander Elyoussef's Obituary
Elias Iskander Elyoussef passed onto his heavenly rest on September 2, 2023. Born in 1932 to Iskander and Helena in Hasake, Syria, the family later emigrated to Zahle, Lebanon. He was 90 years old and resided in Tarpon Springs, FL.
Elias came to study fashion in NYC and worked at the Kuwaiti Mission to the United Nations. He was a master tailor for more than 25 years at MacHugh's Fine Clothier, in Ridgewood, NJ.
In 1999, he married his loving wife Elizabeth Lee (nee Sosenheimer) in the Assyrian Orthodox Church of the Virgin Mary, Paramus, NJ and later moved to Tarpon Springs where he was a devout member of St. Athanasius Syriac Orthodox Church.
Elias was a family man, the first on the dance floor, and enjoyed many competitive games of Tavli (backgammon) with his friends.
He leaves behind his wife Elizabeth, stepchildren John R. Lee, Jr (Audrey) and Patricia Lee (Marie) and grandson John R. Lee III (Caitlin) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Elias was predeceased by his brothers Bashir, Joseph, Jacob, and John; and his sisters Shemani and Marine.
