Elaine Lana Weiss' Obituary
Elaine Lana Weiss passed away on Monday, April 21st, 2025. She is survived by her loving husband Jerry Weiss, children Gayle Volesky and Brian Weiss, and grandson Colin Hinman.
Elaine was born in Chicago on August 18th, 1943 to George and Lillian Cohen. She met her husband, Jerry Weiss, while both were working at the original Marshall Fields & Company on State street in downtown Chicago Illinois. Elaine and Jerry would wed on August 20th of 1967.
After giving birth to her two children (Gayle in 1970 and Brian in 1972), Elaine would devote the rest of her life to nurturing, raising and honoring her children, husband and grandson.
As a diehard Chicago sports fan, Elaine spent her youth skipping classes to be one of the original “bleacher bums" and would frequent the Chicago Cubs baseball games with her friends. Elaine also loved live theater and the emotional ride that can come along with artistic endeavors.
Elaine lived with class, modesty, grace and humility and held the power to make others feel special.
She will be missed dearly but remembered by all as a positive influence and treasure of a human being.
