Eileen Mary Tiano's Obituary
Eileen M. Tiano, 82, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on June 14, 1943—Flag Day—in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, Eileen proudly carried a deep sense of patriotism throughout her life. She was the daughter of James and Mary McGoldrick and a graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School, Class of 1961. She later pursued business studies before beginning an extraordinary life of service and dedication.
Eileen married the love of her life, James M. Tiano, on August 29, 1975, and together they shared 50 beautiful years of marriage. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Eileen cherished her family above all else.
Eileen lived a life marked by service, courage, and determination. She proudly served in the Marine Corps, Army and the Air Force, and later fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a Philadelphia Police Officer, where she served in the Major Crimes Unit. One of her proudest accomplishments was winning a landmark age-discrimination lawsuit against the Philadelphia Police Department; an achievement that paved the way for others and removed age limits for becoming a Philadelphia Police Officer. Her strength and resilience made a lasting impact on the law enforcement community.
Beyond her professional life, Eileen enjoyed baking, bowling, playing Bingo, crafts, shopping, holiday decorating, and spending time with her family. She loved Elvis and found joy in the simple moments—especially those shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, humor, and unbridled spirit will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, James M. Tiano; Her children:, Jon Broadley Geraldine Pietrzak (Ken), Denise Costello (Tim), Josephine Kasinetz (Dave), Helen Cosenza (Don), Barbara Webb (George); She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, with one more blessing on the way.
Eileen is reunited in heaven with her predeceased loved ones: Her parents, James & Mary McGoldrick; Her daughter, Jennifer Tiano; Her in-laws, James & Helen Tiano; Her aunt, Edith Camillo; Her brothers, Lou Johnson and James McGoldrick.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 8 AM at Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, A funeral mass will be held on immediately following at 10:30am at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 12749 Interlaken Rd., Trinity, FL. with Father Gary officiating. Burial will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eileen’s honor to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation or HPH Hospice, whose compassionate care allowed her to remain at home surrounded by her family.
Eileen’s husband and children extend their heartfelt gratitude to HPH Hospice and to all who cared for her so lovingly.
Eileen lived boldly, loved deeply, and served proudly. Her legacy will live on in every life she touched.
