Edward Daniel Roemer's Obituary
Edward Daniel Roemer, 88, of Tarpon Springs died Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Palm Harbor. He was born on September 2, 1929, in Baltimore, Maryland, and came here in 1988 from Ellicott City, Maryland. He retired as a senior cryptologist from the National Security Agency, Department of Defense, Ft, George G. Meade, MD., after thirty-four years with that agency. He served in the army at the end of WWII as part of the occupation forces in Japan, and later, during the Korean conflict, as a member of the Army Security Agency. He married Betty Louise Deschenes on October 4, 1952, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He was a member of St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church in Tarpon Springs, and a member of the Friends of the Library in Tarpon Springs. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 65 years; and by their sons Paul Michael, John Joseph, and Mark Peter; and by four grandchildren. Interment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
