Douglas Yowell's Obituary
Douglas W. Yowell was born on December 17, 1957 to Jerry and Jeanne Yowell in Hebron, NE. He passed away suddenly May 16, 2015 while on a fishing trip in Gulf Port, Mississippi.
He attended the York, Nebraska Public schools, Doane College in NE and received his MS in Fisheries Biology, Aquatic Ecology in Reno, Nevada. He worked at Nebraska Public Power Company, Commonwealth Edison, Pasco County Utilities and currently Duke Energy in St. Petersburg, FL as a Lead Environmental Specialist. He served on various boards including the Florida Water Quality Association board and volunteered with the Villa Rosa Architecture Review Board. He enjoyed his family, reading and watching the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Rays.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Yowell, sons Braden Yowell and fiancé Chelsi Landry, Steven Yowell and friend Brooke Wilson, family pet Merry, his mother Jeanne Yowell Huff of York, NE, brother David Yowell of Singapore, sister Debra (Brian) Schwab of Lincoln, NE, his parents-in-laws Irvin and Juanita Mueller of Columbus, NE and brother and sisters-in-laws Randy and Joanne Mueller of Columbus NE, Dale and Gina Eisenmenger of Humphrey, NE, Kevin and Carolyn Kenny of Reno, NV and Ginny Mueller of Amarillo, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were father Jerry Yowell, step-father Thomas Huff and his grandparents.
Memorial services will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, May 23rd at 1:30 with family greetings beginning at 1:00 pm..
