Douglas Palancia's Obituary
Douglas Joseph Palancia, age 62 crossed over peacefully at home on January 10, 2024 to eternal life surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. He has been healed by our Lord Jesus Christ and is able to walk and breath freely with the loved ones that have crossed before him.
His quick wit, selflessness, patience and bravery will be forever missed.
He was always researching his next cruise, and followed through by providing irreplaceable memories for his family.
Doug was a passionate Tampa Bay Lightning fan who loved attending games. He watched every game, ‘Lit the Bolt’ and wore his Lightning apparel faithfully.
Doug was passionate about cooking and creating delicious meals to enjoy every evening as a family around the dinner table.
His favorite activities included watching his son Luke take the ice as a Goaltender, planning annual Cruise Vacations, decorating for holidays, and celebrating special occasions with family.
His favorite phrases were “I said the Myself: Self”, “What can I do for you?” and “How can I help?”
When asked by others what they could do for him, he replied: “Find that bag of fifty dollar bills” or “I’ll take the winning lottery numbers”.
Doug made his colleagues at Cheney Brothers (CBI) his second family, sharing the joys and challenges of their lives.
Doug is survived by his family who was his life: Patricia Palancia, spouse, Luke Palancia, son; Brittany Bandi-Craig, daughter; Lauren Vannucci, daughter; Son in Law Jared Craig, Son in Law Matt Vannucci, Granddaughter Sabal Craig, grandson George Craig; Sister Nancy Brady, Brother in Law Jim Brady, Neice and family Amanda Wood, Rob Wood, Leah Wood and Zoey Wood and many extended family.
