Dot and I didn’t know each other well most of our lives. Rich and I would visit her in FL every year but that wasn't enough time to get to know each other well. Last year we moved her from FL to NJ. At times it was very difficult, dementia is heartbreaking and it progressed rapidly. I shed a few tears along the way.
The good parts, the parts I am grateful for are the lessons she shared with Rich and I:
- Enjoy each other
-Take care of each other
-Enjoy the moments when you are in them
-Notice the beauty of the trees and sky
-Eat ice cream with reckless abandon
Dot deserved all the love and care we gave her; and we are better for it. We will miss Dot but we have our memories and more than a few funny stories.
God Bless you Dot.
