Doris Cook Davis' Obituary
Doris Cook Davis was born on January 24th, 1935, in Man West Virginia, the beloved daughter of the late Con and Mae Cook. She passed away peacefully on December 10th in her home in Odessa, Florida, where she had lived with her daughter Kelli and granddaughter Autumn for the last eight years.
Doris cherished her 44-year career working at the River Terminal Railway, a job she adored. She looked forward to attending church weekly, reconnecting at her class reunions in Chapmanville, WV, and was an avid bowler. She found joy in reading her daily newspapers, dancing to Elvis and boogie-woogie music, and most importantly, loving her family and many friends.
Doris is survived by her two daughters: Terri DiPaola (nee Ferrell), wife of the late Elio DiPaola, and Kelli Davis; four granddaughter’s, Tiffany Fields (Brian), Erin Spears (Mark), Shannon Guex (Emmanuel), Autumn Davis and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her niece and nephew: Conda Bates (nee Cook), wife of the late Kevin Bates, and Larry Mitchem, husband of the late Suzie Mitchem, along with many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Evans Funeral Home in Chapmanville, Funeral service beginning at 12:30pm with Rev. Roscoe Chafin officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV.
