Dorett Harebin's Obituary
Dorett Maud Harebin, 83, of Odessa, Florida, passed away on April 11, 2026. She was born on August 9, 1942, in Spice Grove, Manchester, Jamaica, to Wilbert and Daisy Robinson. After graduating from Hatfield High School in Jamaica, Dorett went on to study nursing at West Ealing Nursing School in London, England. This began her 49-year-long career caring for others as a Registered Nurse. On October 17, 1964, Dorett married Donald Kent Harebin, and the couple raised three beautiful children together, Tania, Paula, and Darren.
Dorett’s proudest achievement in life was being a loving mother, wife, and sister to her family. She was an excellent cook, and loved to prepare meals for family gatherings, which continued on a weekly basis long after her children had grown and moved out of the family home. She kept her mind and hands active throughout the years with puzzle games and crafts, such as knitting and crocheting, which she so enjoyed during her spare time.
Dorett is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Donald Harebin; her children Tania Adediran, and Paula Harebin, and Donald Harebin; her grandchildren Omar Henry and Jay Adediran; her brother Lance Robinson and sisters Pamlou Braithwaite and Veronica Hibbert; and her daughter-in-law Angie Harebin and son-in-law Tony Adediran Sr. She was preceded in passing by her parents and nine siblings.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorett’s memory to the Community Food Pantry of South Village. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at Life Path for the care and compassion they extended to both Dorett and her family, which provided great comfort during her final days.
