Donald Gundeck's Obituary
Tarpon Springs, FL – Donald Michael Gundeck, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on Monday January 6, 2025. He was born on August 24, 1940, in South Bend, IN. Don served in the Navy from 1958-1961. He was stationed at San Francisco and Africa. After the Navy, Don worked for Wisconsin Bell, and later the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He met Elaine (Bowers) Gundeck in Darlington Wisconsin and enjoyed 57 years of marriage. They had three children, Tim, Tom and JoEllen.
After Elaine passed away, Don met Bonnie (Wilcome) Gundeck, and they were married in Tarpon Springs FL in November of 2020. They liked to attend church, sing in the choir and read their daily devotions.
In his free time Don found joy in spending time with his family and playing Euchre, he also enjoyed reading books, running and hiking and walking with friends in his community. He was active in his local church singing in the choir and participating in bible studies. Don loved sports, especially watching Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Packer Football.
Don contributed to every community he was a part of from working at the Badger State Games, volunteering at the local library, driving for Meal on Wheels and Knights of Columbus.
Don is survived by his second wife, Bonnie Gundeck; children, Tim Gundeck, Tom Gundeck, and JoEllen Fahey; grandchildren, Chris, Peter, Nina and Jack; great granddaughter, Addison; and his sister Sandra Suver.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on March 1, 2025, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 12747 Interlaken Rd, Trinity, FL 34655.
A private burial will take place at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Darlington Wisconsin.
