Donald J. Bartholomew's Obituary
BARTHOLOMEW, Donald J.
88, passed away March 29, 2021, at Spring Hill Health & Rehab Center. Born in Chicago, he married Maureen Devine, his sweetheart from St. Michael’s High School, and together they raised seven children. Don was a seaman in the US Coast Guard Reserve and graduated from the College of Lake County. He held a variety of manufacturing management positions in the Chicago area, most recently 18 years at Streeter Amet in Grayslake, IL, before retiring to Florida.
Don was recently pre-deceased by Maureen, his beloved wife of 68 years, and by sisters Nonie O’Brien and Winnie Zummo. He leaves behind his children Donne Petito (Eric Walby), Dennis (Debbie) Bartholomew, Gina (John) Stransky, Jim Bartholomew, Katie (Mark) Barry, Ted (Katie) Bartholomew, and Jack (Julie) Bartholomew, his brother Tom Bartholomew, 14 grandchildren, a dozen great-grands, and many dear nieces and nephews.
A parishioner at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Don’s final resting place will be Trinity Memorial Gardens in New Port Richey. A joint memorial for Don and Maureen will be planned post-pandemic.
