Domingos Muniz's Obituary
Domingos Muniz, age 94, of New Port Richey passed away Monday October 3, 2016. Born on August 4, 1922 in Ceara, Brazil, he was the son of the late Raimundo Muniz and Raimunda Muniz. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Albertina Muniz. He was predeceased by his daughter Gracina Muniz and his son Raymond Muniz (Irene). He is survived by his son Antonio Muniz (Donna), Maria Muniz (Terry), and Espedito Muniz (Kathleen); and grandchildren Mark Muniz (Holly), Eric Muniz (Amanda), Alex Muniz (Martha), Charity Haire (Derick), Joey Muniz (Ning), Jeffrey Muniz, Belinda Muniz, Nakeya Keen (Aaron), Aurea Muniz, and eight great grandchildren. In his early years, Domingos served in the Brazilian navy during World War II. In 1959, he sent his wife and children to the United States and followed shortly after, as they had envisioned a better life in the States. He began as a carpenter in New York, then purchased a gas station and laundromat. With continued vision of a higher quality of life, he moved to Florida. He fostered a family life style that was continued through to the next generation as he and Albertina were continually surrounded by their children and grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Thursday October 6 at Trinity Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 12609 Memorial Drive in New Port Richey. Funeral services will follow from 1 to 2 PM.
