Dolores Roden's Obituary
Dolores Winifred Roden of 1643 Kinsmere Dr. Trinity, FL passed Wednesday September 12 2017. She was one of two children born in the Bronx NY to Edward and Elsie Mulvaney Cody. She married her childhood sweetheart Donald F Roden on June 24, 1948 . On December 17, 1948 they were soon blessed with their first son Gary Francis Roden. Several years later she started a new chapter in her life as Donald was drafted into the US Army on Sept 24 1951. She was a new Mom alone as Donald left to fight in the Korean War. Together they started a military career as Donald enlisted in the US Army after Korea and served proudly until June 22 1959. Her second son Richard Edward Roden was born August 30, 1954 at Fort Riley Junction City Kansas and on June 19 1957 her third son Donald Eugene Roden was born overseas in Schweinfurt Germany. In 1959 they settled in Levittown Long Island NY, near family, where she continued to raise her three sons. As the children became older she worked for Ma Bell telephone from which she retired from in 1985. In retirement Dolores and Donald wanted a warmer climate and retired to Pasco County Florida. Here they were able to enjoy a dream of taking cruise vacations.
Her husband Donald passed away on July 26 2017. She is survived by Gary Francis Roden and wife Karen Conlon Roden of Trinity FL; Richard Edward Roden and wife Donna Virga Roden of Trinity FL; and Donald Eugene Roden and wife Diana Kulik Roden of Long Island NY. Grandchildren: Nicole Roden Cigich, Courtney Roden Kollarik, Meghan Roden Kaminski and LeeAnne Kulik. Great grandchildren Hunter Cigich, Tyler Pappas and Liam Pappas. And niece Sharon Quigley Aronson.
