Dianeliz "Nelly" Perez's Obituary
This morning our princess Dianeliz 'Nelly' Perez was called to her Heavenly home. This precious warrior of God holds a place in all our hearts that can never be filled. Her bravery on this Earth was an example to all of us as she struggled to overcome her challenges.
However, Her faith proved ever greater than her fears. Now she walks and runs with the angels forever healed at Jesus' side having taught us all the true meaning of courage. Whatever the doctors and teachers said she couldn't do...was exactly what she did do. They said she would never walk a step, but she did. They said she would never talk, but we will all have her voice and laughter with us always. They said she would never go to school, but we watched her accept her honorary degree. She swam and biked and visited Santa...She loved Christmas and would beg for her beloved butterfly tree to go up before Thanksgiving even arrived each year...Nelly loved animals, music, and movies, but above all else...FROZEN! Her love of Elsa and Anna was legendary and Let It Go was perhaps her own signature song. Most of all...she was the kindest of hearts who worried about you when you were sad, understood you like an old soul and always made you feel like you were the most important person in the world to her.
Nelly follows her beautiful mother Daisy and is survived by her beloved grandmother, the woman who taught her never to give up. Joshua her amazing brother who watched over her like a guardian angel teaching her honor and kindness. Marie and Alexa who both grew up as her sisters and even trained professionally to help with her care. Her brave and dedicated Grandfather Papi who always made her laugh with joy. Her sweet tios Angel, Carlos, and Jose...all her wonderful titis, all her fun-loving cousins like Ava and Bella who grew up with her and so very, very many friends.
She moved mountains to give us these 23 years of joy and now is her chance to watch over us...we will make you proud princess!!
