Diane Hackney's Obituary
Diane (“DD”) Freeman Hackney passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was born to John and Gloria Freeman in Tampa, Florida on April 3, 1964. A devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, Diane lived her life with a generous heart and an unwavering commitment to the people around her.
Diane was known for her gentle spirit and her remarkable ability to make others feel seen, supported, and valued. Whether offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or a warm smile, she brought comfort and steadiness into every room she entered.
Diane was an Executive VP at Quest Corporation of America, where she worked for 21 years. Through the years she brought dedication, professionalism, and genuine care to her work and to the people she served. She approached every task with thoughtfulness and integrity. Her presence strengthened the work and made the organization kinder, and helped shape the quality of service and culture at Quest.
Diane loved Kenny Chesney, her beautiful bayou sunsets, and her Tampa Bay sports teams. Her love for animals—especially her dogs—was one of the purest expressions of her compassion. They were her constant companions, and she cared for them with the same devotion she showed to her family and friends.
Diane was predeceased by her father John Freeman, brother Chris Freeman, and husband Bill Hackney.
Diane leaves behind her beloved family: Gloria Freeman, Greg and Gregory Freeman, Bliss and Slade Freeman and Jacob and Hannah Hackney, along with many other beloved family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. Each will carry a piece of her kindness, humor, and warmth forward.
Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her influence lives on in the countless lives she touched. Diane will be remembered for her generosity, her loyalty, and the love she gave so freely.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
