Diane Lillian Dudgeon, born October 1, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Lillian Mae Dudgeon and Doyne Scott Dudgeon. Diane is survived by her devoted brother, Thomas Dudgeon; her cherished nephews, Scott Dudgeon (wife, Heidi) and Matthew Dudgeon (wife, Jenny); and her adored great-nephews, Wyatt and Merritt (children of Scott and Heidi), and Brodie, Liam, and Quinn (children of Matthew and Jenny).
Diane attended Buchtel High School in Akron, Ohio, before earning her degree in Clinical Social Work from The Ohio State University. Following graduation, she made Tampa, Florida her lifelong home and built a distinguished career in public service. As a Program Director for the Florida Department of Children and Family Services, Diane oversaw programs serving individuals with developmental disabilities across five counties. She was known for her meticulous attention to detail, deep knowledge of her field, and unwavering commitment to the people and families she served.
Her colleagues describe her as exceptionally caring, kind, and highly respected; a leader who combined competence with compassion. She dedicated her life to improving the lives of others and did so with integrity and grace.
To her family, Diane was more than an accomplished professional, her love and steady presence, warmth, and devotion meant the world. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, co-workers, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her life was one of service, strength, and quiet generosity.
