Derek,
The first time me wet I knew immediately we would become friends. I didn't know hardly anyone in your class because we all came from River Ridge Corey Miller, Eddie Garton, Reggie Miller, and I so excited about this new Mitchell High School..yet all of us where from Trinity and Wyntree.
I remember you introducing your self to me because my brother Michael was dating your sister at the time and wanted to know what or who these Crites brothers are. The confidence you carried made every guy gravitate towards you at that moment I knew what type of person you are. From the many House Parties that I was throwing. I invited you to one which you bought your entire crew. That moment we all linked up as Mitchell, instead of being from Gulf, River Ridge, or Seven Springs. Creating this Bond of Brothers turned into this entire circle of friendship. That was you man you had a way of making every guy feel unique and Unstoppable. I don't know if it's because you didn't have any brothers is why we all became Brothers in the first place? Yet I wouldn't change anyting from my high school and college memories of you. The news that you passed broke my heart into a million pieces. You always had a way of making every guy feel like their brother, way of understanding, also helping others. Fly high Big D know that I love you brother. You will truly be missed. My sincerest condolences to the Mitchell Family. Sincerely Ryan James
Derek,
I always wanted a brother, and that dream came true; although, it was taken away from me too soon. When you moved out to Texas, a genuine bond was formed. You certainly showed me the real sibling experience. While our time together was cut short, it will remain in my heart forever. You were a great uncle to my kids and always so good to my mom. Rest assured that your sister is taken care of from here on out. I love you bro... see you on the other side.
Dewey, Becky, Carly & Family,
