We had been neighbors with Winklers since 2004. When Dennis’s beloved wife passed- we become closer friends.
Dennis was part of our family- his presence, support and help was always needed and appreciated.
He liked my Polish cooking, spent a lot of time with my husband, helped with trees and always supported my son.
We remained friends after I moved away.
Dennis was passionate about creating beautifully carved walking sticks.
He loved his sons and grandchildren.He was righteous, good man.
Our family will always remember him.

Dennis was the first person to greet us and welcome us to the neighborhood when we bought our house across the street from his. He quickly became part of our family and was a welcome sight when we were in town. He would always take down our American flag if we forgot it when we left town. I know his friends and family are sad but we have all been blessed to have had him in our lives for however long that may have been. Dennis you will be missed.

in honor of Dennis.

Dennis it has been hard to say goodbye because we loved you so much.

We met you March 20,2020 the day we moved to Tarpon Springs and became your neighbor. It was Covid so it was difficult but we made it work.

We talked outside with masks and I told you I loved to cook and you told me you loved to eat. I made food for you frequently and dropped it at the door. You would go out to you pool area and send me kisses.

After a year or so we knew we could get together and you and Gary watched football I would say Sundays but really whenever it was on.

Wednesday nights we had dinner together and played rumicube.

We laughed we talked we commiserated. You would talk about Eric and Lance and you face would light up. Oh and the grandchildren you cared for them so much. I remember posting birthday card a few days before you passed. You told me this one needs to get out.

You could be extremely opinionated but at the same time so loving. We didn’t always agree but on the big stuff we did and loved each other.

Mr Winkler was my neighbor in Union growing up. He and Mrs Winkler were two of the nicest people you could meet. Very sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with Lance, Eric, and their families.

Dennis‘s gym family looked so forward to his arrival every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He’d always greet me with a wave, greeting and smile and made an effort to chuckle at my badly told “dad jokes.” Oftentimes, he would ask if he could “borrow” a water. And, more often than not, he would bring me a bottle of water at a later date to replenish my supply. Dennis made time to share his love of wood carving with my son, and was kind enough to share some of his Chanukah tradition with my family and me. It remains impossible to have “the price is right” turned on, without my thoughts turning to Dennis. He will be missed, but will be remembered. May his memory be forever, a blessing.
